1. From where came the idea of having a Flickr?

The idea of making a Flickr profile came from my 11th grade chemistry teacher, Mr. Fusco. There was one day in his class when I had my photography class portfolio out on my desk. Mr. Fusco came over and told me that my art was good, and that he wanted to see more of my pictures, so I went over to the computer and showed him. After that day, whenever I did a photo shoot, I would show him, and he would give me criticism on the photos. He'd get the whole class into it and show it on the projector screen. One day he told me I should get a Flickr, which was a site where people could upload photos and get criticism and comments on them. That was how my Flickr came into being.

2. What inspires you?

There are a lot of people on Flickr who inspire me: Rosie Hardy, Dario Torre, Jeremy Lusk, and Tamara Lichtenstein, to name a few. There is a girl who went to my school who was named Kirsten, she was also a huge inspiration to me. She was a graphic designer, and was amazing with photoshop. I was always marveling at her work.

3. How do you find such wonderful locations to your photos?

My town is full of beautiful places that are hidden to the unadventurous. There is a stream of park in nearly every neighborhood. When I was young, my father and I used to go biking in a wildlife park, and we discovered many of the places that I use for photo shoots on those trails

4. Did you learn photography and GIMP techniques all by yourself?

I learned photography from a course which I took in 11th grade, it had a much larger focus on film cameras, but there is no doubt that my love for pictures sprouted from there. As for GIMP, I am completely self taught. I started experimenting with colour curves and now have about 50 which I use regularly.

5. Tell me about your models. Are they all your friends?

All of my models so far have had some acquaintance with me. Most of my models are my close friends. I'm very lucky to be surrounded by so many beautiful people who are so willing to travel around town and take pictures with me!

6. Do you produce the whole photo or do you have some help with the model's clothes, make up etc ?

When I set up a photo shoot, it is always just me and the models. I tell the models to do either crazy or neutral make up, do their hair in a certain way, and bring as many clothes that fit the theme as possible. I usually bring along many of my clothes and props as well. Its not professional in any way, but it's always more fun like this.

7. What's the worst thing a photographer can do?

The worst thing a photographer can do is let the money get into their heads. I've sworn that I will never do this as a job, because I feel that it would take away from my passion. I can't imagine having to do this on a time limit, or having my models be customers and not friends. This is strictly fun for me, so the worst thing ever would be to make it into a business.

8. What's the best photoshoot you have ever done?

The best photoshoot I have ever done was at a waterfall with my friend Krista. She drove me to a beautiful place that I hadn't even known existed, and I took so many of my favourite photos there.

9. Tell me: a music, a book, a movie, a quotation

Music: 19 Again at Grand Central Station by Killglare Riley. It makes me want to mourn the loss of my 19th year before I even enter the age.
Book: Tuesdays With Morrie by Mitch Albom, which makes you want to live your life in a completely different way.
Movie: Atonement: one of the saddest movies that I have ever watched.
Quote: "It's the space in between the notes that makes the music"-Massimo Vignelli

Ele colocou a classe toda nessa e mostrou no projetor.

Eu estava sempre me maravilhando com o trabalho dela.

4. Você aprendeu técnicas do GIMP e fotografia sozinha?

Música: 19 Again at Grand Central Station - Killglare Riley.
Livro: Tuesdays With Morrie do Mitch Albom.
